Reading Your Way to McDonald’s

Can reading books get you lunch at McDonald’s? Absolutely! Jeshua read books and took quizzes on Book Adventure to earn more than 2,000 points. Those points turned into a special prize-lunch with me and friend at McDonald’s! Team Freeman students can take quizzes  using www.bookadventure.com about books  they’ve read. Each quiz earns the student points. Students IMG_8572can chose to use their points for smaller prizes like new pencils and bookmarks or hold out and save for big prizes like extra Preferred Activity Time or a special lunch.         Jeshua, Connor, and I enjoyed a beautiful spring day with a walk to McDonald’s. Along the way we chatted about what we would get for lunch, and I was impressed with the boys’ plan to make healthy choices. The boys impressed me even more witIMG_8573h their polite manners while they ordered their own meals. I enjoyed lunch with Jeshua and Connor and hope to have another lunch date soon! Keep reading!

Falmouth Soccer Club Plays Fall River

On Sunday April 24, 2016 the F.S.C.(Falmouth Soccer Club) played Fall River we all thought we were going to win but then our coach told us that they lived in a part of Fall River where they only play soccer. We were still thinking we were going to win because of  how small they were. But then when we got on to the field they scored in the first 5 seconds of the game. Then when we played the ball they stole the ball and ran but they bumped into our defense and fell. Naturally they started to cry. They got a free kick but they missed they shot it over the goal post. Then they shot while the goalie was talking they shot and made the score 2-0. Our team probably had 20 more shots but we missed every shot. At half time we rested up and had some oranges. But when we got on the field we heard the other team’s coach yell at the players to stop cheating. After a few missed shots one of their players were 1v1 with our team’s goalie they kicked the goalie, Chase, in the stomach and shot the ball and made a goal. Then 5 minutes later the game ended 3-0 they won. Our coach says they were one of the best teams.

Light Filters Making a Difference

Mrs. Freeman asked Santa for some light filters. Talia’s and Sophia’s mom purchased  them for Team Freeman! Mrs. Freeman commented saying, ’’Once the lights are off students become quiet and more focused.”  The light filters help us keep the lights steady. The light filters are blue, so the light filters turn a darker shade of the color blue! We love our new light filters! Mrs. Freeman asked the team if they think the the light filters are helping us. Mrs.Freeman said, ’”The light filters create a calming atmosphere.” Jamie said,  “They help a lot.” He also said, “They help us do our work.” JJ said, “They are helpful.” Ella agreed. We love our new light filters!

Revising and Editing

After a lesson about using intriguing words, I revised my story beginning.

All of a sudden I saw a deer collapse near my feet. Then I jumped behind a log, and as quick as I could I took out my ahtom, or bow, and arrow. Something zoomed by my face. The next thing I knew I was on the cold hard ground.

The Disagreement
