Gayatri Wins the Breakfast Poster Contest

In January at Teaticket School there was a poster contest for Grab ‘n Go Breakfast called “Why is Breakfast Important.”  The posters were judged on how many foods you can have that are healthy for breakfast and also for the neatest in the pictures. On January 19, the sectaries at the office called the winners of contest in grades 1st through 4th grade. They finally called down the winner of the whole 3rd grade. Everyone was so anxious to hear the winner. In our class, Gayatri, got called down! That was for the whole 3rd grade! Everyone cheered for her.

The First Thanksgiving

Boom! Boom! My brother was hunting deer when we heard a loud sound we had never heard before. Arjun hid behind the green blackberry bush. I was brave and climbed on the big, tall rock behind the bushes. I looked to see where the sound was coming from. I saw a huge boat, and didn’t know who was on the boat. I heard stories about the Englishmen before. They came for land and took Squanto, a brave leader from our tribe. They brought diseases that made many of my people die. I knew that they wanted something from us. I wonder what they want? Do they want something which is special to my tribe?
